Hi Amber, I assume you already have all the typical symptoms of hypothyroidism: Hot/cold body swings, sluggish metabolism, easy bruising, etc.. The thing to remember is you have to make correcting it a "mission" and work on it in a holistic manner.

You will have to be very careful that you avoid any stress "shocks". These will turn the problem into more of a autoimmune disorder such as lupus. So the first order of business... AVOID as MUCH stress as possible. I recommend taking time out every day and relaxing or meditating quietly. Secondly, you may have to change your diet somewhat. I am sure your doctor has already made the recommendations to you, but if not, the key is avoiding prepared (boxed) and fast foods. Stay away from soda pop, any foods with high fructose corn syrup, MSG, and avoid drinking chlorinated water. Some types of vegetables are not recommended too (such as nightshade family), but we have found that this is not as critical as eating fresher, home prepared foods.

Now, I am sure you want to know what we did to "reverse" the problem and get her back on track (remember, the above is a MUST for the rest to work). The supplement is called "Intramax". It is the BEST mineral, vitamin, probiotic, amino acid, etc.. supplement I have found to date! It is liquid and very easy to take. What makes it so great is that it enters the bloodstream quickly and becomes immediately bioavailable (due to being naturally chelated in fluvic and humic acid). There is NO waste with this product! Compared with the best vitamin pills on the market, this stuff blows them out of the water! The downside, it is a little expensive, but considering it will be the ONLY supplement you will need, it is well worth the money.

Remember, the thyroid originally started shutting down due to diet and lack of proper minerals (combined with stress). The above supplement will help correct this over several months. You will also start noticing various other affects such as thicker and healthier nails, hair, skin clearing, etc.

We also started drinking homemade smoothies in the morning composed of organic frozen fruits, bananas, and whole food additive from one of two sources (often called green food). Our best source was from a company called "Day Star Botanicals" and we used both the vegetable and fruit blend. The alternative is from Dr. Schulz's website.. and is the bottled whole food source (composed of dulse, blue-green algae, etc.). Both are relatively expensive ($30-45 for a months supply), but worth the cost. We were able to make them last over 2 months because we didn't make the smoothies every morning. All you need is a blender and a little creativity to make these whopping energy drinks in the morning (but you have to get used to the green color). There are books on all kinds of fruit smoothies you can make (adding things like teas. whole milk, etc..).

If you do use milk, we recommend NOT drinking low percentage milk that is homegenized! If may be hard to find, but drink only non-homogenized milk.. or avoid it altogether.

Amber, the key here is common sense... not rocket science. You MUST get the minerals you have been missing for many years into your body (including that all important iodine)! You MUST avoid processed foods (not only are these lacking minerals, they leach them out of you!), drink good water, get light exercise daily such as walking and stretching (when you have the energy), and try to get 15-30 minutes of sun daily too (without lotion).

Other than that, common sense things such as avoiding anti-perspirants with aluminum and proplyene glycol, too much cell phone usage, bad water, and all the above other mentioned things. You have to tackle this head on... and be aggressive. Continue taking thyroid medication for now that your doctor has you on... but as you start feeling better (you will know when your metabolism starts kicking up!), you can fade them out (consult with your doctor... or not). Some of the side affects of the medications are joint swelling and muscle aches due to excessive water retention. These will fade in several days after you stop the medications.

Give this time. It will probably take 3-6 months before you start seeing and feeling the changes. You may respond quicker, but still give it time to repair all the damage. You will feel better than ever soon... but always remember, this IS a life change (for the better). In time, you can ease back into splurging into all the stuff we know isn't good, but just limit it and continue taking the Intramax most of your life. If you read the article under Ta Bu, you will see what Intramax has done for my 92 year old grandmother!

Sorry about the long reply, but it takes awhile to get all this said. Meanwhile... you take care...

Yours,

Chris Kurtz

Hi Amber, saw your message. My wife has (had) hypothyroidism (in conjunction with other health issues). We have got her thyroid working with the hypothalamus gland again (master gland) to start producing the necessary hormones for proper bodily functions (mostly related to metabolism). The good news is, it can be done with alternative "stuff"... but takes awhile. She was on syn-thyroxin for some time, but we removed her from it as she showed improvement signs (not to mention some side affects noted from the syn-thyroxin). I will give you the details in another memo if you are interested... but it would be better to go directly to my profile page and leave me a note. I will respond with the simple supplement she takes.

Take care,

Chris K.
